How to Use InstaDrop on iPhone and Android
InstaDrop is designed to be a "mobile-first" web application. We know that most social media consumption happens on smartphones, so we've optimized our tool to work perfectly on both iOS and Android browsers without the need for an app store download.
Using InstaDrop on iPhone (iOS)
Apple's iOS has specific ways of handling file downloads. To save media on an iPhone:
- Open Safari and navigate to instadrop.site.
- Paste your link and tap download.
- When the download starts, Safari will ask if you want to download the file. Tap "Download."
- The file will be saved to your "Files" app. From there, you can tap the share icon and select "Save Video" to move it to your Photos gallery.
Using InstaDrop on Android
Android provides a more direct file management experience:
- Open Chrome or your preferred browser and visit our site.
- Paste the link and initiate the download.
- The file will download directly to your "Downloads" folder.
- Most Android phones will automatically show the new video or photo in your Gallery or Google Photos app immediately.
Pro Tip: Add to Home Screen
For even faster access, you can add InstaDrop to your home screen. On iPhone, tap the Share icon in Safari and select "Add to Home Screen." On Android, tap the three dots in Chrome and select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen." This gives you a convenient icon that works just like a native app!
